Create your own relaxing bath bomb

These bath bombs are infused with lavender and geranium essential oils – both known for their relaxing qualities.  These are simple to make, with most of the ingredients probably already in your pantry.  These make great gifts for Christmas – but be sure to keep a few for yourself.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe

What tools you need:

food coloring
silicone mold
whisk

Ingredients:

1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup Epsom salt
1 tsp. water
3 tsp. olive oil
20 drops lavender essential oil
20 drops geranium essential oil

You can use any essential oils to create your own blend.

Directions:

First mix together baking soda, Epson salt and citric acid together.

Pour olive oil and water. Once the mixture has fizzed a bit move on to the next step.

Whisk together the mixture.Make sure you mix well. Add your essential oils and mix again.

Add 3 drops of food coloring to give your bath bombs a pretty color as they dissolve (this is optional). Mix in the food coloring well until there are no big chunks.

Next add the moist salt mixture and and firmly compact into the silicone mold. We recommend doing this over a cookie sheet for easy clean up.

The bath bombs may expand while they dry. Keep your bath bombs in a dry cool place while they are drying to minimize over expanding. When they fully dry, gently pop them out of their molds.

That’s it! Now you have cute bath bombs ready for gifting or to use for a bath.
