Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint essential oil and its name has its roots in Greek mythology. Pluto – God of the dead – fell in love with Minthe, a beautiful nymph. Pluto’s goddess wife, Persephone, became jealous and turned Minthe into a plant. Pluto could not bring her back to life but ensured that she would have a wonderful and fragrant aroma.
Peppermint essential oil has a fresh, minty aroma that has a cooling effect when inhaled or used on the skin. It is used by many people because peppermint essential oil helps with opening your sinuses when you have cold. It is also great to use as a massage oil blend to massage sore and strained muscles to ease pain and inflammation. Although peppermint essential oil helps with sore muscles, it is important to make sure that peppermint essential oil is properly diluted in an essential oil. Otherwise, it may cause irritation on your skin.
